STAGE 3 BREAST CANCER

Stage 3 breast cancer is a scary stage of breast cancer. In the third stage of breast cancer, it is important to immediately start treatment and work with a doctor to get rid of the cancer. This stage is divided into three groups, stage 3A, 3B, and 3C.

Stage 3A in stage 3 breast cancer is considered invasive and can mean the following things, the tumor is larger than 5 cm, the cancer has not spread, but the lymph nodes in the armpit contain cancer cells. It is possible the cancer cells are stuck together. Alternatively, stage 3A can mean that the armpit contains cancers cells that are stuck together, the cancer hasn’t spread, and the tumor is smaller than 5 cm. On the other hand, stage 3A breast cancer means, although you cannot see a tumor in the breast, the lymph nodes under the armpit contain cancer cells and are stuck to each other, and there is no sign that the cancer is spreading to other parts of the body.

Stage 3B means that the lymph nodes under the armpit may not even contain any cancer cells, the tumor is fixed to the skin or the wall of the chest, and the cancer has not spread to further parts of the body.

Stage 3C of breast cancer is also known as inflammatory breast cancer and it means that the tumor has spread under the breastbone and to the lymph nodes in the armpit, the tumor is any size, but the cancer has not spread to other parts of the body. This form of breast cancer is very serious and often misdiagnosed as an infection in women. This breast cancer is extremely aggressive. Symptoms of stage 3 breast cancer considered inflammatory are redness of the breast, swelling of the breast, skin changes, lymph node swelling, if the breast looks like an orange peel, and flattening or inversion of the nipple.

Stage 3 breast cancer treatments usually starts with immediate chemotherapy, following surgery to remove the cancer or tumor, and additional hormone therapy so the tumor and cancer cells do not grow.

Because of the seriousness of stage 3 breast cancer, it is vital treatment is started immediately.
